The goal of the project is to strengthen collaboration between producers and innovative business models for the production of high-value bio-based products. The project is coordinated by the Italian company CiaoTech, and in addition to Sweden, partners from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Greece are participating. C4B is funded by the EU Horizon program.
In the Swedish case study, BioFuel Region collaborates with its member Envigas, which produces Biocarbon in Bureå. For an investment in full industrial-scale production to take place, an efficient and continuous supply of large quantities of tree biomass of sufficiently high quality must be ensured over a long period. In the case study, a raw material supply strategy will be developed, which will also take biomass quality into account.
