Accessibility

A large part of our work has focused on making the transition accessible.

Here you can read about our accessible charging stations, as well as download our quick guide on accessibility. It’s a brief version covering the key points to consider when planning and establishing a charging station.

Quick Guides and Practical Advice

Accessible Charging – Practical Advice

Here you can download detailed brochures about accessible charging in English, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Icelandic.

Accessibility tips:

  • Make sure there is at least 90 cm of clear width around the vehicle so that a wheelchair fits within the parking space.

  • For buttons, outlets, and displays, a height of 80-100 cm is preferred (maximum 120 cm).
  • Use clear contrast between text and background in information about the charging station. Avoid red/green color combinations.

  • Ensure the ground is as level as possible, with no height differences or curbs between the vehicle and the charging station.
  • Keep in mind that people with color vision deficiency have difficulty decoding and understanding information communicated solely through color or various types of color changes/blinking. Therefore, review how, for example, “Charging in progress” and other messages are communicated.
