Our Knowledge Hub

Here we have gathered knowledge from all our projects. In addition to reports and other current materials, we have also published our online courses.

Bioeconomy

Our work with bioeconomy focuses on replacing fossil-based input materials with renewable, bio-based resources. By improving the efficiency of biomass use and better utilizing and refining by-products from forestry and the forest industry, we can create added value.

We influence action plans and support innovative small businesses to accelerate the transition to a bioeconomy. Through our projects, we develop and disseminate knowledge at regional, national, and European levels.

Sustainable Transport

Since 2003, BioFuel Region has worked to help northern Sweden phase out fossil fuels and transition to sustainable alternatives. An important step was taken in 2010 when we launched the electric vehicle network, which led to electric vehicle projects that have contributed to making it possible to charge electric cars even in the northernmost parts of the country.

Today, our focus is on driving development for heavy transport and construction machinery. We work on projects that include both electric power and other renewable fuels, and we initiate solutions to increase access to new charging infrastructure and to strengthen inclusion within the transport sector.

Biogas

Since 2010, BioFuel Region has run the Biogas Norr network to strengthen biogas development in northern Sweden. Through collaboration and projects, we work to promote the exchange of experience, establish biogas as a vehicle fuel, and develop new solutions - for example, refining digestate into commercial fertilizers, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of biogas producers in the region. We also monitor market developments, both regarding biogas itself and changes in regulations, EU directives, and more.

Accessibility

A large part of our work has focused on making the transition accessible.

Here you can read about and take part in our seminar on accessible charging stations, as well as download our quick guide on accessibility. It is a brief version highlighting the key points to consider when planning and establishing a charging station.

Inclusion

A commitment to ensuring that everyone can be part of the transition.

We have long worked with gender equality and inclusion in our projects. For many industries, creating attractive workplaces with inclusive leadership is a matter of survival—environments where more people thrive, stay, and want to contribute.

Here you will find our digital micro-course on equality and inclusion, developed with VKNA and tailored for workplace meetings in the transport sector, tips on how to make your documents more inclusive—and other useful resources.
